We Learn From Our Experiences

We Learn From Our Experiences

From the desk of My Collaborative Team President, Edward S. Sachs, ACP

As we come upon the Thanksgiving holiday it is time to give thanks for all the good things Collaborative that have happened this year.  It is this time of year where I look back at the good, the bad, the ugly and more importantly, the things I can learn from my Collaborative experiences during the past year.

I have spent a lot of time reflecting on how I present financial matters to clients.  How can I discuss the financial issues we must cover without injecting the law?  How can I make sure not to influence, but just provide guidance and education.  How well have I kept bias, both explicit and implicit, out of my cases?

Oftentimes on Friday at Happy Hour I raise many of these questions.  I turn to my Collaborative peers for advice and criticism.  After all, the best Collaborative professionals are the ones who can give and take criticism.

Join us this Friday (our last Happy Hour before Thanksgiving!) and share some of your good and bad and what you feel has been your biggest accomplishments and most important takeaways from your 2023 cases.
