From the desk of My Collaborative Team President, Edward S. Sachs, CPA.
About 20 minutes into our CollaBARate! Happy Hour on Friday we had a young lady Zoom into the bar and identify herself as a first-year law student from Minnesota. She explained that it was suggested that she join the call by her mentor. She stayed on the call until its end around 6:30.
Towards the end of the Happy Hour, I again asked her why she had joined the call. She went on to explain that as a class assignment she was supposed to attend a professional meeting of any kind. She had signed up to attend a live meeting for that day, but it had obviously been cancelled so her mentor mentioned our meeting. She was on the call as a class assignment! When I asked her if she knew anything about Collaborative law, she responded with Collaborwhat? Everyone chuckled.
We spent the next five minutes explaining to her what we do and asked her to research collaborative further and take it back to her class. I think she was intrigued. We must sell this process to our future colleagues.
We invite you to join us every Friday because you never know what could happen. Three weeks ago Sandra Crawford of Chicago mentioned that she had written a blog but didn’t know how to get it published. Her blog was our featured article two weeks ago and now Sandra is not only published but has launched her own blog postings on her website. We can’t wait to post more of Sandra’s musings.
It goes to show you that anything can happen at Happy Hour. Join us this Friday at 4:30.
We have a very busy week ahead for My Collaborative Team. On Tuesday join marketing guru Joryn Jenkins for our second CollaborEAT! discussion on Closing the Sale. Then Thursday we will have a special CollaborEAT! session with Karen Sacks and Caroline Johnson discussion Co-Parenting during the Coronavirus pandemic.
