If you haven’t been to a My Collaborative Team Happy Hour, you are missing the opportunity to make yourself a better Collaborative Professional.  You are missing the collective knowledge of some of the best Collaborative Professionals across North America.

Just this past Friday the group was presented with an actual case situation.  The two neutrals in this matter were looking for guidance.  The husband in their matter is not interested in getting a divorce.  His attorney, who is not yet Collaboratively trained, has caused great delays in the matter due to her non-availability because of her thriving litigation practice.  The neutrals are convinced that the matter could be settled with one more meeting.  There are no children, short term marriage and minimal undisputed assets.  But we just can’t get that meeting scheduled due to the husband’s attorney.

The Happy Hour collective agreed that the neutrals should consider requesting permission from both attorneys for the two neutrals to meet with the clients with the hopes of achieving a resolution.  Of course, anything agreed to would be reviewable by Counsel.
