Just because it is called an introductory or basic training, doesn’t mean it has to be limited to those who have never been introduced to the Collaborative Process. From my experience when attending a Collaborative training, either basic or advanced, I am left with a feeling of inspiration and conviction that my continued paradigm shift from forensic accountant to neutral financial professional is a journey I must continue. As an experienced Collaborative professional will tell you, the paradigm shift is an ongoing journey that we must stay committed to.
There is nothing easy about the Collaborative Process. Every matter is a different challenge. Staying up to date with the latest practices and techniques is part of our responsibility to being the best professionals we can be.
Your first training is just the beginning! I have personally attended more than ten introductory trainings and every time I learn something new that makes me a better Collaborative Professional. Over the years Collaborative trainings change as we learn better ways to practice. If you have not attended an Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Training in a few years, I strongly encourage you to attend one again. I promise you will learn something new and relevant that will improve your practice.
While advanced trainings are a critical component of gaining competence and confidence, I encourage all practitioners to consider taking the introductory training again. Get back to the roots of the process from time to time. Learn new ideas and new ways to better yourself. Become a more competent professional.
