Many of us are coming down from our IACP Forum high! It was a great weekend spent with the best Collaborators in the world. The lessons we learned, and the comradery we built will invigorate many of us as we enter the new year.
The Forum was highlighted by keynote speaker Nadine Smith, the Executive Director of Equality Florida. Nadine spoke of our need to fight intolerance and to be vigilant against the prevalence of hate that is occurring not only in Florida but throughout the country. Her presentation was inspired and moving and had the entire room on their feet. She warned against complacency and reminded us of the dangers of not speaking out against the hate and violence that we are all witnessing throughout the world.
My Collaborative Team was proud to be a part of that movement to recognize that intolerance. We want to thank all our friends and those attendees who supported our IDEA T-Shirt sales. Congratulations to Candice Saketkoo whose spirit and dedication made this project a success. Proceeds will help fight the intolerance that Nadine spoke about. If you would like to help support our fight against intolerance you can still purchase your IDEA T-Shirt. These shirts show our support for those marginalized in our communities. Proceeds from the shirt sales will go to Equality Florida and the IACP IDEA Committee.
For those of you who attended the Forum we invite you to write a short blog describing your experience and sharing some of what you may have learned. Submit your blog to me at [email protected].
