Achieving Your IACP Forum Goals

Achieving Your IACP Forum Goals

Written by My Collaborative Team Marketing Director, Eric Sachs

One of the best parts of attending the IACP Annual Forum is the reaffirmation of the work we are doing as Collaborative Professionals to bring a more peaceful way to resolve disputes to those in our community. Many attendees leave feeling empowered, uplifted, and ready to take on those challenges we sometimes come across when working in the Collaborative realm. The Forum experience really is about the magic of the Collaborative Process.

Every year at the closing plenary the IACP President asks attendees to think about what they will be taking from the Forum and implementing in their own practice and community. It’s like a New Years Resolution for your specific Collaborative journey. Some people shared that they would be teaching their intake staff on how to properly screen calls and assess potential clients for the Collaborative Process. Our good friend and MCT member from Connecticut, Mark Soboslai, mentioned that he was going to work this year to get the Uniform Collaborative Law Act passed in his home state. What a tremendous goal that we fully support and will be happy to put our full complement of resources behind.

With all of this in mind, it is important that we are realistic about the goals we set at Forum to ensure they are achievable and not just the Collaborative magic that is in the air. Every week My Collaborative Team holds a virtual happy hour where members from across North America join to chat about a wide range of Collaborative topics that help keep the peacemaking spirit strong in each one of us. If you are looking for a way to capture the Collaborative magic of the IACP Annual Forum, I strongly encourage you to check out one of our happy hours. It is my promise that you will find this to be one of the most impactful hours of your week that is sure to help you reach any peacemaking goals you set.
